Jason Hams Comment's - 4th of July

The 4th of July, one side of me wants to celebrate by eating all day with good friends and watching the fireworks at night from a close distance. The other side of me wants to mourn for our country. Instead of feasting with my friends of the faith, we will fast and pray. Instead of watching thousands of dollars go up in smoke we will light one single candle just to remind us that Jesus is still and will ever be the Light of the world even in time of trouble. Kinda hard to celebrate our Nations History in light of what is going on. Reminds me of church. How can one possibly be in the spirit of worship when there is sin in the camp. In short I will pledge my alligence to the flag when I post it on my house. As for praying and fasting on the 4th? I will be at Calvary Community Church at 9pm with one solidarity candle. Whoever wants to join Martha and I is more than welcome. It will not be festive, but it will be productive. It will be a time of intercessory prayer for the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The chruch bell will ring at 9 something just to remind us that we still have a voice and we chose to voice our concerns to God Almighty.
